Fernando Forestieri.

After joining Wednesday for a rumoured #3 Million in the summer, Fernando Forestieri has scored 12 times, picking up 5 yellow cards and 2 reds in the process. The Argentinian picked up the October PFA Fan's Player Of The Month Award after scoring a handful of goal of the season contenders. Massimo Cellino will be gutted after failing to sign the forward after branding him as having the "wrong mentality", Leeds will now be thinking of what could of been if they had managed to secure a deal.

After getting sent off against Preston for 2 bookable offences, the first of which was questionable as he was 'brought down' whilst practically through on goal. His second was for a handball in the box. As a result of this, he missed the mid-week meeting with QPR at Hillsborough.
He then returned for Friday's trip to the KC stadium, where he was, again, shown red for 2 bookable offences, only this time, in a moment to forget for referee Tim Robinson. As FF was again almost  through on goal, when the Hull captain - Dawson - charged in, Fernando then darted to the left to avoid a serious collision, falling to the floor and clutching his leg. Dawson immediately held his hands up, apologised to Forestieriand looked up at the ref,who was pulling a yellow card out of his pocket. The Hull skipper was rightfully expecting to be booked here, and the look if guilt on his face was evident he was expecting it. But instead, Robinson marched past him, booking the Wednesday forward instead, dismissing him in extra time.
Post-match everybody admitted it was an awful decision. Dawson himself admitting he made contact and that Forestieri should not have been booked. It has been all over the media, with referees, pundits, ex-pros and players all agreeing that it was a wrong decision. Keith Hackett, ex-world cup referee wrote how both the Preston and Hull decisions were wrong. However, dismissals cannot be appealed when they come from two yellow cards.
Forestieri was in tears as he entered the dressing room after leaving the field early during added time.
The referee, Tim Robinson, has had his punishment already, being moved down to League 2 for the upcoming fixture of Crawley Vs. Newport County on Tuesday and Notts County Vs. Bristol Rovers on Saturday. Wednesday however, have yet to suffer their punishment, of missing out on the services of Fernando for the next 2 matches - Rotherham United and Brighton.

Forestieri is without a doubt a massive goal threat, and after Brighton's 4-0 win over Leeds United on Monday night, he would have been a useful asset to have next Tuesday.

No matter who you support, you have got to give the 5'8" forward credit, after being neglected at Wolves, to come straight into the Wednesday side and do as well as he has for them. It is likely Wednesday will be able to 'cope' without him for the next week or so, and it will only encourage him to come back fighting, after his break, for the trip to Nottingham Forest.

The Owls Vs. The Millers preview.

Wednesday will be without Forestieri - who has a 2 match ban after receiving two yellows in 2 consecutive matches - as the Millers head to S6 on Saturday, after a much needed win against Brentford last week. Rotherham currently sit in 22nd place in the Championship, having collected just 29 points so far this campaign. Their new gaffer, ex-blades and leeds manager, Neil Warnock will be looking for his first away win in charge of Rotherham, in what he knows will be a fierce derby. Wednesday however, will be looking to continue their home form, having lost only once at Hillsborough this season, winning 10 and drawing 6. Joe Mattock will be looking to make his Hillsborough return after making the move from S6 to the New York during the summer, after a 3 year spell with the Owls.

Hull Vs. Sheffield Wednesday post match

Fernando Forestieri saw red after his fourth yellow card, second red,  in six days, this time, the second yellow was even more questionable than a week ago against Preston. He was brought down in the 91st minute when the referee decided it was a dive, and in turn showed him a yellow card and the subsequent red. On replay, there is clear contact on the Wednesday player, and the reaction of the Hull defender shows that he knew there was contact and that he was expecting the card himself, but the referee strides past him to dismiss the Argentinian for the second time in as many games, his third red card in his English football career. He will now miss the next two matches (Rotherham at home & Brighton away). On the whole, it was a well contested match, with good chances from both sides, who both hit the woodwork. Both keepers were in fine form keeping out anything that came their way.
Hull dominated possession but didn't particularly create anything from it, they did have a huge 16 shots, compared with Wednesday's 6, yet didn't trouble the Owls' shot stopper Keiren Westwood, who remained calm and collected throughout. Hull will see the point as disappointing, where Wednesday will be both pleased, yet with the first half performance, left feeling that they could have brought all three points home with them.

Chris Waddle

Chris Waddle, a £1 Million signing for Sheffield Wednesday, played for them between 1992-96, scoring 10 goals in 109 appearances for the Owls. The year he joined Wednesday reached both domestic cup finals (both of which they lost to Arsenal), the same year he was voted The Football Writers' Association - Footballer of the year 1993. He was released by the club only 5 games into the 1996-97 campaign.
He is now a football commentator & pundit for ESPN.

Hull Vs. Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview.

In front of the Sky cameras, Sheffield Wednesday travel to the KC tonight in what will be one of the toughest challenges of the season. Promotion favourites Hull are a point above Burnley in second, with a game in hand. A win for the Tigers tonight would take them 4 points clear, until saturday evening at least. A win for the Owls however could take them back up to 5th in the Championship.
Fernando Forestieri and Sam Hutchinson are both back in contention tonight after their suspension and injuries respectively, while Steve Bruce's men have no fresh injury concerns, having a fully fit squad to pick from.
The last four meetings at the KC have seen Hull take 9 points and Wednesday, most recently take 3 points. Wednesday have only kept one clean sheet in the last 11 meetings between the two clubs.

Preston North End v Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesdays Fernando Forestieri sees red for a second bookable offence during their 1-0 loss away at Preston on Saturday.

It was a happy 3rd anniversary for Preston boss Simon Grayson as his side fought off the Championship's in-form team on Saturday. The sending off, for a deliberate handball in the box, seconding his earlier booking for a dive in the box, was the defining moment of the match, which was pretty even up until this point. Both teams had their chances early on, with neither taking the opportunity to take the lead. Kieren Westwood was in fine form, and in the end it was only a close range header from Preston's front man Joe Garner, just 6 minutes after the dismissal of Forestieri. The goal was Garner's first since December, and Wednesday's first defeat since December 28th, against Middlesbrough.
Carlos Carvalhal had this to say after the match
"The first yellow card is unbelievable because it was a clear foul to us and he gives a yellow to Fernando. If he doesn't go down he will be in front of goal in the area with a very clear chance to score. For me he didn't dive in that moment because if he did it was not a good choice. He blocked him."
The fans were amazing again, the game was balanced, we both created chances and in the second half we looked as though we would score but the red card changed the game. Even with 10 players we took risks and the players fought until the last second to try and win the game."
Both teams have now lost 1 in they last 9 in the league, Wednesday lay in 6th place, 4 points clear of 7th place Cardiff, and 6 points adrift of 2nd place Burnley. While Preston are now up to 10th, only 8 points off the top 6.

The Walking Dead - Season 6 returns!

Episode 9 - The second part of Season 6 returned to our screens on Monday night, and went up in flames, quite literally! As Rick Grimes and co continue to draw walkers from their newly acclaimed hometown of Alexandria. The first in the second part, named "No Way Out" was watched by 13.74 million viewers in the US alone!

The main protagonist, Rick Grimes points his gun at oncoming walkers.

The Wolf plans an escape from Alexandria, with a little help from Denise, and has a clear route out but goes back to save Denise who is surrounded by walkers, and is bitten in the process. Denise promises to try to save his life, as long as he can get her to the infirmary, but before they can even set off properly, he is shot dead by Carol who is looking on from above. When Carl is unable to shake off Jessie's death grip, Rick hacks off her arm, leaving poor Carl traumatised. Blaming Rick, Ron grabs Carl's dropped pistol and aims it at Rick. Michonne stabs Ron, however, the pistol still gets shoot and takes out Carl's eye. Michonne and Rick fight their way to the infirmary, where Denise tries to save Carl. Rick leaves the infirmary, and in rampage, begins to kill walkers on mass. This motivates the Alexandrians to join him, taking out any walker who comes their way. Daryl fills the lake with petrol from a conveniently found tanker, and ignites it, which then attracts the walkers, who plunge straight into the flames. The morning after, the survivors regroup and Rick sits with Carl in the infirmary, holding his hand, when Carl grips on and the episode ends.

Sheffield Contour map - 3D model

I have laser cut the contour line out of A3 card. It is mad up of 9 layers all together, and both the normal and the inverse both look good. The bottom image is the inverse, nowhere the highest point is on the model, the deepest part is in real life.
For my final piece I am thinking of doing this, made using MDF painted in different colours, but I am going to try using different materials swell to see which one looks the best.
I think it would look good in steel, but the facilities we have wouldn't be able to cut steel.

This is roughly the area of map that I used, I have been thinking about adding in the M1 (& M18) and the A roads on a separate layer, or cut them from all of the layers so there is just a gap. I also want to put the names of the bigger areas such as Sheffield and Rotherham on, but i am not sure how to incorporate these easily, unless I attached them to the real layer and only etched them not cut.

Sheffield Wednesday v Brentford

Foresteri heads home his 12th for the Owls this campaign, putting them 1-0 up 12 minutes into the first half, 8 minutes after Brentford's Yoann Barbet was dismissed for bringing Hooper down when he was through on goal. Wednesday used their man advantage to create a further 3 goals in the match, with strikes from Gary Hooper (now into double figures for goals scored since arriving in late October), Kieran Lee (who has netted 5 times this season) and Lucas Joao (his 6th of the campaign). Hooper's strike was voted the SkySports News HQ goal of the day, his second goal of the day in a row! It does, however, have to be said that Brentford still troubled the Wednesday defence at times, with Alan Judge coming close a handful of times. The match closed at 4-0, taking Wednesday up to 5th in the SkyBet Championship and making them the league's top scorers (49).
